Mary Elizabeth Masters, 86, of Norcross Road at Kimballton, in Giles County, Va., departed this life on Monday afternoon, January 25, 2010, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness. Born in Glen Lynn on July 13, 1923, she was a daughter of the late James William and Emma Clyburn St.Clair. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion Master; sons, David Masters and Joe St.Clair; granddaughter, Emma Ruth McNeely; sister, Ola S. Long; and brothers, Hansuray, Frank, Hubert, Fred, Wesley, and Dorse St.Clair. She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ann M. St.Clair, of Trinity, N.C.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill Cardwell, of Pearisburg, Sheila and David Kessinger, of Newport, Greta and Bill Short, of Waynesboro, Lucy St.Clair, of Ripplemead, and Rita and Jerry Neary, of Max Meadows; her sisters, Margaret S. Dove, of Hilldale, W.Va., and Cleo St.Clair, of Princeton, W.Va.; her 20 grandchildren; her 25 great-grandchildren; and her three great-greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg.
