Shirley Ann Mastenbrook, 85, of Blacksburg, formerly of Clermont, FL died Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on September 25, 1929 to the late Garrett and Marie Mastenbrook.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Vander Meer and her brother, Garrett (Butch) Mastenbrook. Shirley enjoyed many things including the garden club, volunteering at the hospital, and mainly being with her family and helping others.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Dykehouse, D. Scott Dykehouse and Dawn (Francois) Elvinger; grandchildren, Carlie (Brandon) Sullivan, Robert (Kate) Goldhouse, Clinton (Hannah) Dykehouse, Maghan McDowell, Kristin Elvinger, Nicholas Elvinger; great grandchildren, Ben and Micah Sullivan; sisters, Idalee (Harry) Huizenga, Mary Jane (Marshall) Milam; brother-in-law, Jay Vander Meer; many loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Shirley’s extended family at the Showalter Center, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Mary Ann Harris and her staff at Comfort Care Senior Home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Florida. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
