Massaro, Angelo Battista

Dr. Angelo Battista Massaro, 80, of Eggleston Road, Pembroke departed this life Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Brandon, Florida on November 7, 1935, he was a son of the late Gian Battista Massaro and Adelina Cacciatore Massaro.

Dr. Massaro was a retired surgeon, a veteran of the U S Air Force (Viet Nam Era), a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg, and had served at The Giles Free Clinic.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Debra J Massaro; his daughter Brianna Massaro of Charlottesville; his sons Michael Massaro of Maynard, Mass., Mark Massaro of Boston, Mass, Timothy Massaro of Maitland, FL, Christopher Massaro of Portland, Maine, and Giancarlo Massaro of Columbus, OH; his grandchildren Nicholas, Camille, and Olivia Massaro; and his sister Lily Fazio of Valrico, FL.

A funeral mass will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg with The Rev. Father Anthony Senyah officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
