Martin Sr., James Wilbert

James Wilbert Martin Sr., 76, of Bassett, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mista Tolbert Martin; a sister, Anna Dean Martin; and brothers, Talmadge Martin and Travis Martin.

He is survived by his daughter, Loketta Lambert and husband, Brady, of Martinsville; sons, James W. Martin, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Winchester, Scotty Martin, of Bassett, Steven Martin, of Bassett; granddaughters, Hannah Dane Martin, Gracie Collins; grandson, Jack Collins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Winnie and Hugh Goad, of Willis, Katie and C.C. Dalton, of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law, Furman and Bonnie Martin, of Willis; sisters-in-law, Rita Martin, Mary Jo Martin; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Angela Carr and Pastor Gary Hughes officiating. Interment to follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
