Sarah Loveline Williams Martin, 94 of the Hoges Chapel Community, Pembroke, departed this life Saturday morning in the loving care of her family and hospice. Born in Hoges Store on March 30, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Jessie James and Lydia Meredith Williams.

Loveline was a well-known merchant and business woman in the Pembroke area operating with her family the M&W Supermarket in Hoges Chapel and later with her brother Bill the store and food service in Pembroke. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pembroke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers JJ, Ralph, Richard and Lyman Williams and her sisters Janice Collins and Kitty Kellison (by 17 hours), her and a great-grandson Jacob Gentry.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Larry Wayne and Patricia Porterfield Martin of Pembroke; her daughters and sons-in-law Carol and Mike Ratcliffe of Newport and Norma and George Link of Newport; her brother W E “Bill” and his wife Mary Lois Williams of Pembroke; her sisters-in-law Betty Williams and Jane Williams both of Pembroke; her seven grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 6:00 pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pembroke, with Bishop Darren Jones presiding. Burial will be announced at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the services.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her special friend and caregiver Dee Hendrickson, Pam Lafon, the hospice care givers, and all the others who contributed to her well being.
