Mobery Foster Martin, 90, of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Foster was born on February 8, 1929 in Paint Bank, VA and was a son of the late Hampton Elva Martin and Essie Viola Hunter Martin.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Elvie, Buron, Malcom, Garnett, O’Dell, Haven, Lloyd Martin and two sisters, Waver and Glenna.

Foster graduated New Castle High School, was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and was a retired car salesman working for Virginia Garage in Pearisburg, Mitchener’s Corp in Narrows and himself. He was also an avid golfer and longtime member of the Giles Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mabel Massie Martin of Pearisburg, three sons, Michael E. Martin (Beverly) of Pembroke, Jeffrey L. Martin (Robin L. Ballard) of Pearisburg, David E. Martin (Lisa) of Pearisburg, eight grandchildren, Brooklyn Hall (Jarad), Blake Martin, Joshua, Hanna, Aaron Martin, Danielle Collins (Chris), Michele Eppling (Andrew), Matthew Martin, five great grandchildren, Benjamin Hall, Bradley Hall, Mckinsey Belcher, Nadalie Martin, Dawsyn Gardner and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Brian Burch officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 12:30 – 2:00pm before the service.
