Martin, Mildred Roope

Mildred Roop (Tommy) Martin, 88, of Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Heritage Hall after a long illness. She was born April 15, 1921, to the late James Arthur Martin and Eliza Cassie Martin.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by a brother, Buford K. (Boots) Martin, of Blacksburg; a special nephew, Terry H. Martin, of Blacksburg; a special niece, Patricia A. Smith, of Christiansburg; along with several other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at noon at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Medi Home Health & Hospice, 102 N. Washington Ave., Pulaski, Va. 24301, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Terry and Pat would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Payne and to the staff of Heritage Hall for their love and care of Tommy.
