Martin, Lewellyn

Lewellyn Martin, 84, of Hoges Chapel near Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday morning, March 6, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born at Berton in Giles County on May 27, 1922, he was a son of the late James Harvey and Annie Sadler Martin.

Lewellyn was a construction worker but loved the farm life having worked at Hoges Orchards and on his own farm.

He is survived by a brother, Orin Martin of McCoy and a sister, Dolly Miller of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
