Martin, Larry Wayne

Larry Wayne Martin, 82 of Pembroke, VA departed this life to enter into his Eternal Rest with his Heavenly Father on December 8, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Carilion Hospice.

Born May 4, 1938, in Hoges Store, VA, he was a son of the late Alma David Martin and Loveline Williams Martin.

Wayne was a member, Facilities Facilitator and High Priest at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Pembroke Stake. He enjoyed his role as Millwright and foreman for the Unions he was served as well as the work on his family farm.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; and grandsons, Jared Martin, and Jacob Gentry.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his wife/sweetheart of 61 years, Pat Martin; a son, Ashton Martin of the household; two daughters, Jeaninne Gentry (Eric) of Pembroke; and Linette Christley (Michael II) of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, EmmaLeigh McCollum (Jonathan); Michael Wayne Christley III (Lauren); Walker Christley; Breanna Christley; and Shared Gentry; and sisters, Carol Ratcliffe (Mike) of Newport, and Norma Link (George) of Maybrook, VA.

There will be a Funeral Service conducted Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Pembroke Stake with First Counselor of the Pembroke Stake Jon Passic officiating. There will be a blessing of the grave following in the Martin Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the church on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
