Martin, Hubert Thomas

Hubert Thomas Martin, 75, of 5289 Ridge Crest Ave., Pulaski, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Pulaski, June 20, 1936, and was the son of the late Garnet Gay Martin and Thelma Tabor Martin. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joan M. Whitaker and Florence Roseberry, and two brothers, Hayward Gay Martin and Raymond Martin.

Mr. Martin was a retired employee of Volvo Trucking, having 17 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Arthelion A. Martin of Pulaski; sons, Marion Clayton Dean of Newport, James Michael Dean of Pulaski, Allen Walter Dean of Dublin and Thomas Allen Dean of Max Meadows; sisters, Mona Chinault of Pulaski and Pauline Richardson of Fredericksburg; brothers, Cecil Martin and Jimmy Martin, both of Pulaski; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 11 a.m., from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Randall Lawrence and Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wythe County. Visiting will be Monday at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
