Frank Lewis Martin, 81, of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the McDaniel Masonic Lodge #86 A.F. & A.M. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Lewis was owner of the Martin Insurance Agency.

He was born on February 10, 1930 in Blacksburg to the late Thomas W. and Lillian Davis Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas, Lee, Melvin and Arnold; and sisters, Juanita Jenelle and Eunice Tegg.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Reva Akers Martin; brother and sister-in-law, John and Rhonda Martin of Christiansburg; stepmother, Ruth Martin of Blacksburg; stepsister, Beverly Palmer of Floyd; sister-in-law, Lucy Martin of Newport; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Conatser and Tina at Internal Medicine in Radford for their care for many years and the staff at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Bobby Lorton and the Rev. Joe Taylor officiating and members of VFW Post 776 will conduct military rites. Interment will follow in the Big Sand Cemetery in Floyd. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church or the Montgomery County Humane Society.
