Martin, Bobby Junior

Bobby Junior Martin, 82, of Kimballton in Giles County, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 23, 2015, at his home with his loving, devoted, caring daughter, Rebecca Rudd, by his side. Bobby remained humoristic and whimsical until he went to his Heavenly home to be with Jesus. He was a veteran of the United States Army, Korean War, and earned his living as a tractor trailor driver.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beautiful, loving wife, Beulah Gautier Martin; his grandmother, Laura Merix, for who he always held a special place in his heart; and his best buddy and adopted son, Mike Caldwell, whom he thought of each and everyday and whom he missed dearly. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Merrix Collins; his father, Vivian Albert Martin; and his stepfather, John Collins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and devoted daughter, Rebecca Rudd (Mike) of Roanoke, Va.; his sister, Joanne Darnell (Virgil) of Giles County; his granddaughters, Melissa Collins (Collins) of Thaxton, and Melisha (Tony) Smith of Roanoke; his great-grandchildren, Christopher Campbell, Ashley and Austin Collins of Thaxton, and Leanne and Samuel Smith of Roanoke; a very special nephew and niece, Ronnie and Jennifer Darnell of Giles County; his half sister, Charlene (James) McCroskey; and half brother, Billy Collins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Jim Asberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery in Pembroke with Military Honors by local American Legion, and VFW Posts.
