Martin, Bettye Jo Shephard

Bettye Jo Shephard Martin, 80, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Martin; son, Garry Neece; and sister, Melba Bullard.

She is survived by her daughter, Risë Sargent and husband, James, of Pilot; son, Eric Duane Martin and Kim, of Christiansburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerold Shephard and wife, Greta, and Franklin Shephard and wife, Coleen, of Christiansburg; sisters, Patsy Sands and Jacki Ward, both of King, N.C., and Bobby Keister, of Lake Worth, Fla.; grandsons, Mitchell Neece and Brad Neece; as well as two great-granddaughters, Braelyn and Kellan Martin.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry A. Christopher officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
