Patra Phillips (Pat) Marshall, 83, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at her home in Radford, Va., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lerona, W.Va., and was a seamstress for 26 years in Dublin Garment Factory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Watson and Reba Davis Phillips; her husband, Andy Marshall; two brothers, Charles and Hershell Phillips; a sister, Mary Freeman; and her beloved cat, Spuds. Survivors include a son, Gregory Marshall, of Radford; a daughter, Andrea Marshall, of Radford; two sisters and brother-in-law, O’Dell and George Walker, of Fairlawn, and Maude Crews, of Pipestem, W.Va.; and four sisters-in-law, Christine McLewin, Iris Marshall, Georgeanne Marshall and Geneva Phillips.

The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice for all their care during her illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
