John Lewis Marshall, 69, of Willis, passed away at his home on Friday October 26, 2007. He was born in Floyd County on May 10, 1938 to the late Lewis E. Marshall and Lela Lester Marshall. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Marshall and Bennett Marshall, and sister, Nellie Marshall Hedge.

Survivors include loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ruth Stanley Marshall, Willis; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Timmy Phillips, Indian Valley; sons and daughter-in-law, Major William and Captain Heather Marshall, Las Vegas, Nev., Johnny Ray Marshall, Willis; sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel Marshall, Hiwassee, Ocie McNeil, Christiansburg, Helen Young, Harrisonburg, Bernard Hedge, Radford; brother and sisters-in-law, Theodore and Edith Morris Marshall, Radford, Eunice Scott Marshall, Draper ; grandsons, Brandon Phillips, Cole Marshall, Chase Marshall; very special friend, Randy Phillips, whom John loved as his own.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Pastor James Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Big Sand Cemetery in Indian Valley.
