Marshall, Geraldine Robertson
Geraldine Robertson Marshall, 84, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek.
Born in West Virginia on August 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Gaye Clowers Robertson. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Earl Ray Marshall Sr.; a son, Robert Douglas Marshall; two brothers, Robert (Bobby) Robertson and James E. Robertson; and one sister, Pauline Day.
She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Narrows where she served in the Early Bird Circle of the United Methodist Women. She also actively volunteered with the American Red Cross and participated in the Giles County Relay for Life.
She is survived by a son, Earl Ray Marshall Jr. and wife, Claudia, of Richmond; a daughter, Roberta M. Hungate and husband, Robert, of Narrows; one sister, Betty Jean Huffman, of Pearisburg; and four grandchildren, Patrick Hungate and Benjamin Hungate, both of Narrows, David Marshall and wife, Gail, and Pam Murphy and husband, Jim, all of Richmond; three great-grandchildren, Pvt. Heather Murphy, Caitlyn Marshall and Bracey Marshall, all of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Wayne Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service on Friday, February 15, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Narrows.
