Marks, Dorn Gordon

Dorn Gordon Marks, 59, of Check, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008. He served in the United States Navy. Dorn retired from G. E. after thirty plus years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Wertie Marks, and a special greatniece, Kassidy Foster. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marks, of Check; son, Chad Thomas Marks, of Check; three stepsons, Roy Mabe, of Check, Dean Mabe, of Tampa, Fla., and Mickey Mabe, of Check; sister and brother-in-law, Kitty and Harold Austin, of Check; two nieces and spouses, Cathy and Paul Howell, and Tammy and Danny Foster, all of Check; three great-nieces, Courtney Foster, Sarah Howell and Nichole Howell, all of Check; special friends, Roger Dillard, Don Akers, and Cecil and Sharon Kidd.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon on Friday, June 6, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, Va.
