Markle, Larry Edward

Larry Edward Markle, 66, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away Friday, December 11, 2009, in Salem, Va. He was born August 25, 1943, in Christiansburg, Va., son of the late Ralph Edward and Vera Harris Markle. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Eaton Markle.

Mr. Markle was a United States Air Force Veteran, a retired quality control manager for C.E.I., a member of First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and a member of the Triangle Ruritan Club.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kelly Markle; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Dennis Williams; three grandchildren, Alexis Williams, Logan Williams and Jordyn Markle; two sisters, Betty Holbrook and Patricia Altizer and husband, Reginold.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Larry Atkins officiating. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, 305 Boulevard, Salem, Va.
