Marcussen II, Kurt Samuel

The Legend Kurt Samuel Marcussen II, born September 29, 1989 unexpectedly departed this life on May 17, 2023. Kurt attended Giles High School where he dominated in Football & Track! He also loved taking excursions through nature, hunting & fishing! Anytime he was around he’d make everyone laugh & have a good time! He was just an all around a great guy!

Most people knew him as “Twitch”, but to his family he was known as “lil Kurt”. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He leaves behind his father Kurt S. Marcussen I, sister Kristen Marcussen, and Jennifer Claytor, a brother Jason Butler, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

He proceeded in death by his loving mother Teresa, grandparents Phyllis Thompson & John Fisher, grandparents Victor B. & Mary Marcussen, and Uncle Victor Marcussen III.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 1 – 2 pm.

The family appreciates all of Kurt’s numerous loyal friends throughout his life.
