Manning, Jr., Alfred Lee

Alfred Lee Manning, Jr. “Jimmy”, 59, of Olean Road, Ripplemead, departed this life Thursday evening, October 16, 2014, at his home. Born in Pearisburg on March 31, 1955, he was a son of the late Alfred Sr. and Irene Lucas Manning.

He was a 1975 graduate of Giles High School, and operated Mannings Grocery in Goldbond.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brothers-in-law Teretha “Wessie” Manning Goodwin and Donald of Kire and Brenda Manning Sessor and JB of Olean Road, Goldbond; his nephew C J Williams; his aunts Dorothy Snider, Helen Counts and Darla; a special friend Becky Bird and many beloved cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday. A funeral service will follow the visitation. Burial will be in the Lucas Family Cemetery at Goldbond.
