Manning, Ernest L.

Ernest L. (Pete) Manning, 64, of New River, departed this life February 18, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was born February 1, 1943 to the late Ernest Hannah Manning of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina. He was preceded in earth by his stepson, Joe Ingram; one brother, Langford Manning.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Louise Manning; his children, Michelle Ingram, Warrenton, Va., Luther Ingram, New River; his sisters, Lilly Mae Moore, Lizyrine Kearns, Hampton, Va., Dorothy Galbrat, Williamstown, N.J.; his brother, Joseph L. Manning and his wife Eunice, Hampton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 30 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; his sister and brother-in-law, Dotchie and Sam Hubbard, Radford, Mary and Manuel Rollins, New River, Gwen Manning, Pulaski, Linda and Jim Carr, Pulaski, John Smith, Bobby Smith, Eddie Smith, David Smith, all of Radford; two special friends, Esxie Sutphin and Odell Palmer, Radford; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
