Mann, Nina Chambers

Nina Elaine Chambers Mann, age 95, of Bozoo, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Nina was born on June 10, 1926, and was one of 17 children of the late A.W. Chambers and Rosa Howard Chambers.

Nina was a member of the Peterstown Christian Church and was the oldest member to attend the church. She loved her church and attended up to the last Sunday worship before her death. She loved to travel and was blessed to visit all but four states. She kept an album of pictures from all of her trips. She especially loved beach trips with her family. She worked in flower shops and excelled in her arrangements. She also loved crafts, reading, working puzzles, and sitting in her swing on her front porch. She always told us everyone blew their horns as they passed. Her greatest accomplishment was to live out her life independently at her home.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Mann; five brothers; and nine sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (D.R.) Orey of Dublin, VA, Judy Lent of Groton, CT, and Kathy Meadows of Bozoo, WV; and one son, Russell Mann of Bozoo, WV. Also surviving are four stepchildren; two sisters, Rose Dunford of Pearisburg, VA, and Yvonne Dunford of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren, Ray, Philip, Jonathan, Sara, Jerrica, Adam, and Ashley; and great grandchildren, Carrie, Hunter, Nathan, Ethan, Evan, Maggie, Madison, Clayton, Kinley, and Maddox.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home with Ministers Don Henegar and Roy Vanscoy officiating. Burial will follow at the Chambers Cemetery in Lindside, WV.

Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. In light of the recent COVID outbreaks in the area, it is highly recommended that those planning on attending the visitation and funeral services wear a mask and practice social distancing.
