Mann, Henry W.

Henry W. Mann, age 90, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Born March 13, 1932, in Ballard, WV, he was the son of the late Ottie Vernon and Ruby Francis Miller Mann.

Henry was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Neoga, IL. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Tuscola Rock Quarry in Illinois for 42 years. He loved coon hunting, fox hunting, and rabbit hunting. He was a Charter Member of the Monroe County Coon Hunters Association and previously served as Treasurer. Also, he loved working in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Mann; second wife, Karen Ruth Kelly-Mann; brother, Ottie B. “Junior” Mann, Jr.; sisters, Norita Bailey and Helen Adkins; stepdaughter, Donna Kay Dingess and husband John; and stepson, Jim Banning and wife Becky.

Survivors include one daughter, Lee Ellen Kelly of Glen Lyn, VA; one sister, Laura “Patty” Jones of Peterstown, WV; stepchildren, Susie Becker of Neoga, IL, and Robert “Bob” Banning and wife Karen of Mattoon, IL; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Tim Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Ballard Baptist Church Cemetery in Ballard, WV. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Randy Blankenship, Brian Mann, Carl Wade, Frank Mills, and Derek Bowers will serve as pallbearers. Bobby Martin, Roger Lawson, and John Holdren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
