Mancini, Dorothy Reiff

Dorothy Reiff Mancini, born in Yonkers, N.Y. on February 22, 1917, and died in Montgomery County, Va. on October 24, 2011. Dorothy was a New Yorker who came to live with her daughter, Carol Hoge, in Blacksburg. She loved Virginia and was a big Va. Tech fan. She was an Elder at the first Presbyterian Church in Yonkers, N.Y. and spent most of her life involved with church activities. She also was a foster mom with the Christian Children’s Fund for over 25 years. She recently visited “Rivendell” a Montgomery County school where her granddaughter, Julie Ligon, has an art room and office. The staff and students enjoyed her New York accent and sense of humor. Dorothy, like her daughters and granddaughter, has always been an animal lover, and was proud of the animal rescue done by Carol and Julie. It was her wish that any donation made in her memory, be made to Animal Hope Alliance, P.O. Box 239, Blacksburg, VA 24060. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Hoge and Susan Pasciucco; seven grandchildren, David Flynn, Julie Flynn Ligon, Sean P. Flynn, Jud C. Flynn, Tyler Hoge, Andrew Pasciucco, and Tara Pascuicco. She was a great-grandmother, with nine great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will always be remembered and loved forever.
