Mahan, Kizzie Bertha

Kizzie Bertha Mahan, 89, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was born in Illinois on March 6, 1917. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Mahan, Jr., and an infant son, Billy Mahan. After moving from Ashland, Ky. in 1995, she was lovingly cared for by the staff at the Showalter Center at Warm Hearth Village. Mrs. Mahan has been a member of Blacksburg United Methodist Church since moving here.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Hofacker of Pennington, N.J.; her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Bea Mahan of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Cook, Danielle Barter, Melissa Chausse; and five great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Monday, January 22, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Morris V. Fleischer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
