Mah, Dr. Valiant W.

Dr. Valiant W. Mah, 79, of Radford, Va., passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Valiant was born on January 31, 1932, in Shanghai, China. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the St. Michaels College, and his Master’s and PhD from Virginia Tech. He spent his professional life teaching Statistics and Mathematics at Radford University. Upon retirement, he was awarded Faculty Emeritus status. He is survived by his son, Albert; daughter-in-law, Rhonda; son, George; daughter-in-law, Beth; daughter, Grace; and his four beloved grandchildren: Andrew, Stephen, Olivia, and Hayden. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 26, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Services on Sunday, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane officiating. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Valiant and Vivian Mah Endowed Scholarship at Radford University or the charity of your choice.
