Judy Ann MacBrair, age 75, of Pilot, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 5th, 2024. Judy was a devoted daughter, wonderful mother, grandmother, and the best great grandmother (Shu Shu).

Judy received her master’s degree at Virginia Tech and was close to receiving her doctorate before dropping out to raise her granddaughter, Renee. Judy was the most fiercely loving woman. She excelled at taking care of people and her home was always open to anyone who needed it. She loved to travel, gamble, and play bingo.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Jarels, and her previous husbands, Kenny Albert, Ren Poff, and Chip Groseclose.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Donald MacBrair, who she treasured with all her heart, her mother, Vivian Jarels, her children, Kevin Albert (Lisa), Byron Albert, Lee Groseclose (Kristy), Mark Groseclose (Daniel), Monica Norris, Donna MacBrair, her grandchildren, Renee Albert, Christopher Albert, Joshua Albert, Bryson Albert, Ruger Groseclose, Coty Boyer (Keenan), Sebastian Stillwagon (Shannon), Benjamin Norris (Kelsey), Jaime Norris, Jennifer Norris, her great-grandchildren, Maverick, Drax, Kenna, Katheryne, Christine, Arlo, Aaliyah, Kamisha, Jaidynn, her siblings, Bobby Jarels (Peggy), Ricky Jarels (Debbie), Kenny Jarels, niece, Shannon Jarels, her beloved rescue toy poodle, Duke, and many more dear friends and family.

A celebration of Judy’s life will take place Wednesday, January 10th at Horne Funeral Home from 12 PM – 1 PM for friends and family visitation, with the service taking place at 1 PM. A graveside service following at Huffville Church with Leon as pastor. Those wishing to send memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
