Cleeta Grimes Mabe, 76, of 131 12th Street, Pulaski, passed away Friday, May 12, 2006 at New River Medical Center. Born August 24, 1929 in Woodlawn, Virginia (Carroll County), she was the daughter of the late Thomas Alan Grimes and Emma Mae Winesett Grimes. She is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Mabe in 1996; one sister, Almeta G. Frazier; and three brothers, Cromer Grimes, Evans Grimes and Douglas Grimes.

She was a member of the Bob White Blvd. Church of God where she served in many areas of the church. She was a member of the Church choir, the Ladies Ministries, Senior Adult group, a Sunday School teacher and also participated in the Church Clown ministry for the children.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Noel O’Dell, Pulaski, Janet and Mike Cable, Pulaski; son, Jimmy Mabe, Dublin; grandchildren, Eric and Mandy Worley, Dublin, Philip Hayes, Pulaski, Kayla Mabe, Dublin; stepgrandsons, Clark O’Dell and Brian O’Dell, Florida; great-grandson, Carter Worley, Dublin; sisters, Leona Carter, Galax, Christine Miller, Pulaski, Eva Johnson, Richmond, Enola Burcham, Dublin; brother, Donald Grimes, Austinville; many special, loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 8 p.m. at the Bob White Blvd. Church of God with Pastor Jerry Collins and Pastor John Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Bob White Blvd. Church of God Monday evening from 6 to 7:45 p.m. before time of service. Graveside services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Old Dublin Cemetery, Dublin with Pastor Carl J. White officiating.

The family will be meeting at the home of Judy and Noel O’Dell, 3858 Bainbridge Drive, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.
