Lytton, Ocie

Mother, Maw Maw, friend to all. None of these titles actually do justice in describing her, because truth is, she was a little piece of Heaven on Earth. Everyone who knew her, knew God, because she touched everyone in a Heavenly way. Her spirit was selfless and brave, and her legacy will remain in our hearts forever.

Ocie “Orlean” Lytton, 81, of Walton Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 26, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Ocie was born on November 16, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie E. Lytton in 1984, her father and mother, Roy and Ocie Akers, her brothers, Irvin Akers and Randolph Akers, her sisters, Gladys Altizer, Zelma Martin, Louise Bentley and Frances Hill.

She is survived by her seven children, Edith “Poodle” and Kenneth Shepherd, of Radford, Phillip “Bubby” and Karen Lytton, of Christiansburg, Vickie and Ricky Akers, of Radford, Dennis and Jo Ann Lytton, of Christiansburg, Alicia and Don Leonard, of Radford, Kathy and Tony Jones, of Radford and Kenneth Lytton, of Christiansburg; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Nancy Akers, of Poquoson, Va.; brother, Walter Matthew Akers, of Christiansburg; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also her loving Church family and special friends at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Brother Don Leonard, the Rev. Nathan Phillips and Pastor Lee Sarver. Interment will follow in The Lytton Cemetery.
