Lytton, Maude Songer

Maude Songer Lytton, 72, of Long Shop, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Craig County, Va. on September 14, 1934 to the late Frank Marion and Amanda Sanders Songer; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Oakley M. Lytton, Sr. She was a member of Community Christian Church in McCoy.

Maude would like all the church members to know how much she appreciated the help and kindness and prayers over the years, and also the members of the Long Shop-McCoy Fire and First Aid for all their help and assistance over the years.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Pratt of Long Shop; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary L. and Jill Lytton of Dublin, Oakley M. Jr. and Kathleen Lytton of Christiansburg, and Bruce and Karen Lytton of Floyd; sisters, Anna Mae King of Tenn., Mildred Williams of Blacksburg, Ruth Ratcliff of Folley, Mo., and Alma Conoyer of Mo.; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Community Christian Church, McCoy with Mr. James O. Flaugher and Mr. Bobby Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Lytton Family Cemetery, Long Shop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Long Shop-McCoy Fire and First Aid, Box 489, McCoy, VA 24111 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Friends may call anytime after 12 Noon Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
