Lundy, Mayme Jeanette Alley

lundy mayme alleyMayme Alley Lundy, long-time resident of Pulaski, Va., passed away at the age of 101, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Carrington Place Assisted Living in Wytheville, Va. She was born on September 6, 1911, in Carroll County, the fourth of eight children to Samuel and Susan Alley. She married Troy Lee Lundy on December 22, 1928, to whom she was married for 66 years. The marriage produced one son, T.L. Lundy, who passed away in 2001. Mayme was a member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church for over 50 years, also working for Virginia Maid Hosier for 18 years. More than anything, she will be remembered for her unshakeable faith, her unconditional love, and her contentment in every situation. The twinkle in her eye, the smile on her lips, and the gracious acceptance of all she encountered will long be remembered. She is survived by three grandchildren, Kenny Lundy, of Pulaski, Va., Vicki Holton, of Panama City, Fla., and Ann Grundstrom, of Cary, N.C. In addition, she is survived by eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Ether King; and her brother, Walter Alley. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Thornspring United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
