Frank J. Lugar passed away November 21, 2007 in Palm Spring, California. Mr. Lugar was born on April 14, 1920 in Eagle Rock, VA, and was the son of the late Dora Amburn Lugar and Frank Jackson Lugar, Sr.

Mr. Lugar began his oil career in Pulaski while working for Huff Coal Company, and his career progressed in having achieved 37 years of employment, and living in many major areas throughout the United States. He retired as Administrative Manager of the Marketing Department for Exxon Corporation, U.S.A.

He was Baptist by faith, a member of the Freemasons in West Virginia, a charter member of the Y’s Mens Club in Pulaski, an affiliate of the Y.M.C.A., a member of the Petroleum Club in Houston, Texas, a veteran of W.W.II having served in the U.S. Army 8th Air Force Division, and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Via Lugar, and a sister , Sarah Umberger.

He is survived by a son; Dr. John Walton Lugar, M.D. of Palm Springs, CA: a daughter; Beverly Murphy of Charlotte, NC: a brother; Giles Marion Lugar of Danville, VA: two grandchildren; Benjamin Pekarek and Peter Pekarek, both of Chicago, IL; and one great-granddaughter; Rose Marie Pekarek of Chicago, IL.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pulaski. Visiting will be Sunday evening at SEAGLES from 6 until 8 p.m.
