Lucas, Margaret Johnson

Margaret Elizabeth Johnson (Cricket) Lucas, 81, of Pearisburg, departed this life Sunday evening, November 27, 2011, at Dove House Hospice Center in Westminster, Md. Born in Falls Mills November 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William Earl and Lydia Davidson Johnson.

For over 30 years she was employed in the health care field as a CNA at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, and professed her Christian Faith as a member of Ingram Village United Methodist Church in Pearisburg.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jason Allen Lucas and Amanda Ellen Lucas; and her sister, Audrey Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Earl and Jan Lucas, of Sykesville, Md., Jeffrey Allen and Allison Lucas, of Oakdale, Calif.; her grandchildren, Courtney Lucas, Mitchell Lucas and his wife, Keira, Thomas Lucas and Caitlin Lucas; her brothers James I. Johnson, Charles Robert Johnson, and Donald R. Johnson, all of Pearisburg; her sister, Ada Lee French, of Pearisburg; her half-brothers, Jerry Johnson, William H. Johnson, and Earl Johnson, all of Pearisburg; her half-sister, Earthel Sue Middleton, of Pearisburg; her stepmother, Ethel M. Johnson, of Pearisburg; her stepsister Mary Lee Jones, of Thaxton; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
