Lucas, Mack A.
Mack Aurther Lucas, 67, of Narrows, Va., went home on the wings of an angel on Saturday, April 18, 2009. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on March 13, 1942, and was the son of the late Guy Edward and Gladys Winnie Lucas. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Spinks; five brothers, M.C., Billy, Marshall, Paul, and Johnny Lucas, whom he considered a very special brother.
He was a faithful member of North Narrows Tabernacle. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Myrna B. Lucas, of Narrows; three sons, Tony and Marvin Lucas, both of Peterstown, W.Va., and Billy Lucas, of Salisbury, N.C.; five daughters, Linda and Delta Lucas, both of Pearisburg, Darlene Howell, of Christiansburg, Patty Daugherty, of Pembroke, and Donna Keffer, of Rich Creek; 14 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie Blankenship and Becky Morris, both of Narrows; a brother, Danny Lucas, of Farmville, Va.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at North Narrows Tabernacle with the Rev. Paul Terry and the Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m.
