Lucas, Anita Elizabeth

Anita Elizabeth Lucas, 45, of Iris St. in Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 17, 2007 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg after a long and hard fought illness.

Born in Pearisburg on December 13, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Wanda Rock Viars. She was a former employee of Renee Industries, VPI, and several other local job locations, and was a 1981 graduate of Giles High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Edward Lucas; a son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Cindy Lucas of Pembroke; a daughter, Amber Lucas of the home; her sisters, Sandra (Cleve) Robertson of Pearisburg, Cheril (Faye) Pulliam of Roxboro, N.C., Carrie (Larry) Spicer of Pembroke; brothers, Randy and Wayne Viars, both of Pembroke; her mother-in-law, Mary Alice Lucas of Pearisburg; brothers-in-law Ricky (Pam) Lucas, Paul (Missy) Lucas, Shane Lucas and Stacy Lucas of Pearisburg, Chris (Lelsie) Lucas of Narrows; and she had the joy of seeing and kissing her first and very special grandchild, Brianna Leigh Lucas of Pembroke; and numerous very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
