Dorothy Cromer Lovern, 89, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at her home. She was born in Blacksburg on July 23, 1922, to the late Elliott Lee and Emma Frances Graves Cromer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Minor Lovern; daughter, Emma Diane Hughes; grandson, David Dewayne Steele; two sons-in-law, James Steele and John Young; two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her seven daughters and sons-in-law, Shirleane and Pete Luokkala, of Moneta, Jean and Earl Hodges, of Mt. Pleasant, Hazel and Charles Agee, of Blacksburg, Linda and Kelly Steele, of Christiansburg, Fay and Buddy Adams, of Vinton, Kathy and Howard Brammer, of Thaxton, Nina Eanes and fiance, Ben Chaplin, of Troutville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie Lee and Teresa Lovern, of Penhook, Jerry and Jane Lovern, of Blacksburg, Johnnie Lovern, Ishpemming, Mich.; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to say thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice for the care that was shown to Mrs. Lovern.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 , in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Steele officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg. 540-552-3211.
