LOVELAND, Debra Sutherland

Debra Sutherland Loveland, 51, of Blacksburg, died Sunday evening, October 1, 2006 at her home after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born on December 29, 1954 to the late Henry Gordon and Leda Johnson Sutherland, of Newton, Utah. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always wore a smile, had a welcoming demeanor and enjoyed helping those she loved and knew.

She loved working as a cashier at Kroger on University City Blvd. and appreciated all the gestures made by her customers and fellow employees. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Michael Emerson Loveland, whom she married and was sealed to for time and all eternity on February 27, 1981 in the Logan Temple, Logan, Utah; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica Loveland of Ballston Lake, N.Y., Karen Catalina Gleba and James Robert Gleba of Alexandria, Va.; granddaughter, Emily Cheyenne Gleba of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Marvin White of Pocatello, Ind., Marsha and Van Jenkins of Newton, Utah, Ann and Laron Lemon of Magna, Utah; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Gordon and Diana Sutherland of Millville, Utah, Ted and Lori Sutherland of Ramona, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 12 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints meetinghouse, 510 Porter Street, Blacksburg. Interment will follow in the Newton Cemetery, Newton, Utah later this week.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va. 24018. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday.
