Loudy, Ralph C.

Ralph C. Loudy, 73, of Jonesborough, Tenn., went to be with the his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Four Oaks Health Care (Jonesborough, Tenn.) after a lengthy illness. Ralph was born in Kingsport, Tenn. on October 10, 1938. He was a graduate of Floyd High School (Floyd, Va.) and, after service in the United States Army, he attended Lincoln Memorial University along with his father. Ralph later returned to Kingsport and retired from Mead Corp. after 31 years of service. Ralph was a true Christian who served God all his life. He was of the Methodist faith. Ralph was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, family member and friend. Ralph was preceded in death by his father and mother Rev. and Mrs. Clancy Loudy (Iva); an infant son, Jon Clancy Loudy; his first wife, Manola Miller Loudy; a brother-in-law, Robert Bowen and aunt Thelma Cobb Jones; and several other aunts and uncles. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Barbara A Loudy; sister, Phyllis Bowen, Pearisburg, Va.; two sons, Jonathan Loudy, of Indiana and Todd Nickels, of Kingsport; three grandsons; two nieces and their husbands; three nephews and their wives, and many loving friends; loving cats, Sissy, Bubba and Little John. There will be a Celebration of Life service held at Snyder’s Funeral Home, 5913 Kingsport Hwy. Gray, TN 37615 at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Boulevard, Kingsport, Tenn. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Tracy Allen, nephew. Music will be provided by Melisa and Tom Brock, Face Like Flint. It was Ralph’s wish to be cremated. The family graciously requests that no food or flowers be sent, but instead, donations be made to Alzheimer’s or Diabetes Foundations or a charity of one’s choice .
