Lorton, Ruby Minta Alderman Vaughn

Shortly before Ruby passed away she said, “I don’t know who is the happiest, the one you make happy, or you because you made the one happy.” Ruby lived her life in a way that brought happiness to all those she met along her life journey. Those waiting for her across the veil are her parents, Shepherd Adi Alderman and Arbelia Sumner Alderman; brothers, Moyer Lee Alderman and Ellis Linsey Alderman; beloved aunt, Arminta Catherine Alderman Keith; the love of her youth and first husband, Posey G. Vaughn; beloved in-laws, Bethel Martin Vaughn and Laura Emma Harris Vaughn, Belva and Newell McGuire, Eva Lorton, Howard and Gwendolyn Vaughn, and Marie and Dale Gallimore; son-in-law, Kenneth Ray Pauley; step son-in-law, Gary Weddle; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dickerson Vaughn; and nephews, Dean Howard Vaughn and Jimmy McGuire. Ruby loved and appreciated so many people the family is sure we missed someone. It’s like counting your blessings, you fall asleep before you finish. All who knew and loved Ruby will appreciate the wisdom she passed on to her children, “I want you to be good and kind to everyone, but remember that once in a while you have to introduce yourself.” God Bless you all. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010, in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd with the Rev. Roy Turpin and the Rev. Norman Goad officiating, music by the Reece Family. Interment will follow in the Hylton-Vaughn Cemetery in Willis, Va.
