Lookabill, Frances Elizabeth Hardy
Frances Elizabeth Hardy Lookabill, 95, of Pulaski, went to be with Jesus, her Lord, on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2012. She was born in Pulaski, Va., on October 20, 1917, and lived her entire life in Pulaski County. She was the daughter of the late John Bralley Hardy and Rhoda Ellen Kersey Hardy and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Royce Lookabill; and her siblings, Eldridge Hardy, Everett Hardy, Luther Hardy, Richard Hardy, Marie Hardy Rogers, Edith Hardy Rush and June Hardy Tennis. After graduating from Pulaski High School in 1935, Frances worked as a bookkeeper for a local candy company. Some years later, she served as a substitute teacher at Jefferson Elementary School and then became a full-time first grade teacher at Jefferson. She then served as an accountant/ bookkeeper for the Town of Pulaski Treasurer’s Office for 21 years, at which time she retired. Frances was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Pulaski. Frances always enjoyed meeting new people. She was an encourager and uplifter to everyone within her sphere of influence. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are daughter, Julia Lookabill Oravecz, of Arnold, Md.; son and daughter-in-law, Glennwood and Jane Lookabill, of Draper, Va.; grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly Lookabill and Shane Gilbert, Joshua and Tabitha Lookabill, and David and Caree Lookabill; and precious great- grandchildren, Olivia, Jude, Naomi, Adelaide and Emma. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012, from the Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lones officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens at the conclusion of the church service.
