Long Sr., Walter Joe

Walter Joe Long, Sr., 73, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Heritage Hall. He was an avid sports fan, who loved hunting, fishing and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Hilton Long, parents, Walter and Nettie Long, and brothers, Oran and Bobby Long. Surviving are a wife, Vivian Davis Long; sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy A. Long, Walter Joe Long, Jr., Jeff and Jennifer Long; brother, Eugene Long; grandchildren, Cody, Carlea, and Zachary Long.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Sunnyside Church.
