Long, Robert Arthur

Robert Arthur Long, 77, of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Luke and Mae Marie Sledd Long and a son, Robert A. Long, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Hinkley Long; and daughter, Audrey Virginia Long and fiance, Walter Mills; sister, Freda Curtis and brother-in-law, Don Curtis; three grandchildren, Johnny L. Long, Emily Long Akers, and Natasha Dawn Long.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
