Marvin Lee Long, 83, formerly of Belspring, residing at Highland Ridge Rehab Center, entered into heavens pearly gates April 6, 2011. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, and was retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 41 years of service. He was a proud member of the Full Gospel Church family and attended the Belspring Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his loyal and devoted wife, Iva Mae Martin Long; his parents, Joe and Lela Long; and his two sisters, Daffodil Buckner and Geraldine Stephens. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Heineman and a very special devoted son-in-law, Keith Heineman, of Radford; his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Junior Lester, of Belspring. Also surviving a brother-in-law, Roy D. Martin, of Hiwassee; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Nelson Perdue, of Salem; one niece and six nephews also survive. The family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Ridge and Wheatland; also Drs. Judy, Choubey, Goad, and Claytor for their love and compassion. The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 1 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home with the Reverend David Plott officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery.
