Long, Harold Wayne

Harold Wayne Long, 75, of Narrows, VA, departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his home. He was born December 8, 1944, in Monroe County, and was the son of the late Charlie and Kathleen Long. Harold was an avid outdoorsman with a special love for hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Ernest, and Johnny Long. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Dalton; his sons, Ernest Long and wife Alicia, and Arnold Long and wife Chelsie; his grandchildren, Andrew, Jarrett, Abby, Aubree, Heaven, and Grayson Long; siblings, Robert Long, Roger Long, Marie White, Brenda Long, Virginia Max Long Meadows, Carol Long, and Norma Jean Long; special friends, Bubby Dalton and Doug McCallister; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 7. 2020, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Dennis Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery in Bozoo, WV. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Will Smith, Sam Parks, Jonathan Lawson, Doug McCallister, Jeremy Payne, and Danny Weatherly will serve as pallbearers.
