Long, Dorothy Hinkley

Dorothy Hinkley Long, 77, of Christiansburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Long; and son, Robert (Rocky) Long. She is survived by a daughter, Audrey Long and her significant other, Walter Mills; grandchildren, Johnny Long and wife, Laci, Emily Akers and husband, George Jr., and Natasha Long; greatgrandchildren, Brianna, Audrey, and Miley; sisters-inlaw, Freda Curtis and Louise Hinkley; brother-in-law, Woodrow Yopp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Long will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother that always made the best of bad situations and always had an interest in her family, friends, and neighbors. She was loving, hard working, enjoyed shopping, and was an avid bird watcher. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home with the Reverend James Walker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery in Christiansburg. DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
