George Clegg Lively, 62, of Giles County, died at his home on Thursday morning, July 28 2011. He was born in Pearisburg, Va., on November 19, 1948, to the late C. Graydon Lively and Frances Belcher Lively. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louella Lively Kinzer and Mary Sue Johnson; and one brother, Leon Lively.

Left to cherish his memory are his companion, Cindy Lawson ,of Narrows; his daughter, Sherry Bishop, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Duane Bishop and Ashley Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews including his special nephews, Brinson Kinzer, of Lindside, and Randy Lafon, of Pearisburg, who he enjoyed spending time with. George also leaves behind his two special dogs, Sam and Hefner.

George was a true craftsman and perfectionist and his talents can be seen throughout may homes in Giles County. His kindness and sense of humor will never be forgotten. He was a 1967 graduate of Giles High School.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Narrows with the Reverend Chris Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Narrows, Maintenance Fund.
