Richard Daniel Littreal, age 56, of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Rick was born on November 14, 1957 in Georgia to James Darrell and Mary Morales Littreal.

In addition to his parents of Fries, Virginia, Rick is survived by his daughter and her companion Jessica Littreal and Jeremy Burton of Christiansburg, Virginia; son Christopher Littreal of Westchester, New York; sister Barbara Littreal Gaudet of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law James Darrell and Pan Littreal of Fries, Virginia; Roger Alan Littreal of Williamsburg, Virginia; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and friend who always put others before himself and lived his life with a spark that lit a fire in the hearts of anyone who was lucky to know him. His gentle spirit was matched in greatness by his steadfastness. He always had a song to sing, a story to tell and a lesson to teach. Let the music of his soul play on in our hearts and remind us all that there is always time to stop and dance.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Donn Bogert officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church.
