Lipscomb, Roy Frazier

Roy Frazier Lipscomb, 73 of Buena Vista, Va., died Friday, May 25, 2007. Mr. Lipscomb was born on January 24, 1934, in Pearisburg, Va., a son of the late Clarence and Geneva (Craft) Lipscomb.

He was a retired mechanic from Campbell’s Garage and an U.S. Veteran of the Armed Services. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lipscomb was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Lipscomb; and a brother, Buford Lipscomb.

Mr. Lipscomb is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Lipscomb; two sons, Larry Wayne Lipscomb of Forest, Va., and James Lipscomb, of Topping, Va.; five daughters, Deborah Gail King and Gloria Ann Plato, both of North Carolina; Janet LipscombRedcross and Joyce Smith, both of Buena Vista, and Deborah Jean Blankenship, of Glasgow, Va.; four brothers, David Lipscomb, of Goshen, Va., Jerry Lipscomb, of Waynesboro, Va., Paul Lipscomb, of Salem, Va. and Bobby Lipscomb, of North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Forbes, of Goshen, and Martha Painter, of Richmond, Va.; 19 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren also survive.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Belle Cove Fellowship Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2007, in the Belle Cove Fellowship Church by the Rev. Jessie Blankenship. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista.
