Linkous, Stanley Eugene

Stanley Eugene Linkous, age 86, of Merrimac, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born in Merrimac, Virginia, on February 14, 1939, to the late Auther and Nina Bane Linkous. He was also preceded in death by his siblings.

He owned and operated Stanley’s Auction House and Auto Wholesalers. Stanley worked at Lakeside Amusement Park and was also a roofer at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was an avid Nascar fan.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Linkous; daughters and sons-in-law, Nora Linkous Woolwine, Shelia and Fred Linkous, Karen Linkous, and Joyce and Tony Hopkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley “Tony” and Amby Linkous, and Gary “Gomer” Linkous; grandchildren, Travis Linkous, Brandon Woolwine (Kyrra), Richard Spence, Jr., Kyndra Merix (William), Christina Agnew (Chris), Justin Linkous (Molly), Elisha Spence (Scott), Vincent Linkous, and Bradley Linkous (Britney); great-grandchildren, Levi, Riley, Aubrey, Carter, Shelana, Brayden, Cole, Arabella, Gunner, Mea, Bryland, Remington, Jaxson, Vincent, and Sophie; sisters-in-law, Veltie Linkous, and Daisy Early; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastors Jube Burk, Todd Porter, and Jamey Hutton officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 pm Saturday, December 13, 2025, at McCoy Funeral Home.
