Linkous, Ruby Cupp
Ruby Cupp Linkous, 75, of Blacksburg, went to heaven to meet Jesus on Sunday morning, March 4, 2007. She was loved and cherished by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband and life-long companion, Glen Marshall Linkous; her parents, George and Zeffie Cupp; her brother, Sammy Cupp; her sister, Deby Cupp and a special long-time pet, “Bear.”
Miss Ruby is survived by her son, D.J. Bland; brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Ruby Cupp; niece, Brenda C. Dix and her family; three nephews, Timothy, Roddy and Frank A. Cupp, Jr. and their families. Also several great and great-great-nieces and nephews survive her. Ruby is also survived by her and D.J.’s friends, Tracy Christensen, Christopher Duncan and Wes Heffron.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family is gathered at the home of Matthew and Kim Dix, 216 Round Hill Drive, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
